What is a Mini Facelift? Weekend Face Lift
By Dr. Jim Greene

A newer version of the face lift that can be done on a Friday and you are ready to go out on Monday has become dubbed as the mini face lift as well as the weekend face lift. Unlike a regular face lift that focuses on the entire face lift, the weekend face lift focuses on certain areas that may need attention.

These areas can include the neck or even the folds under your nose. In a mini face lift, a smaller incision is made and the surgeon uses an endoscopic scope to reposition the skin to create a more youthful look. This however should not be compared to the results of the standard face lift as the surgeon's ability to fix some areas may not be viable.

This form of face lift should also be done on patients who have just started to notice the signs of aging rather than those whose facial skin has begun to sag all over. Weekend face lifts are generally reserved for those who are in their mid to late 30's and cannot fix areas like the forehead or eyebrows.

If all you want to do is to reduce the signs of aging because you feel that you are too young to already be noticing fine lines and wrinkles, then the mini face lift may be right for you. If you are past fine lines and wrinkles and have begun to notice sagging and drooping of the facial skin, then chances are you would be better suited for a traditional face lift.

It is also possible for the mini face lift to be accomplished without the use of the endoscopic scope, but unfortunately this also means that more incisions will have to be made around the face lift. For better information it is suggested that you consult with a plastic surgeon who can help you decide what type of mini face lift will suit your situation if it is at all a viable solution or not. Remember to talk to your surgeon as well as research to ensure that you are well informed of the variables associated with the mini facelift. Being well informed means that you will also be more confident and knowledgeable of the choices you may have to make on your upcoming facelift procedure.
Dr. Jim Greene would like to provide you with in depth information that will help further your education and ultimately help you make a sound decision regarding:
